I hold a Bachelors of Arts in English from Texas A&M University and a Masters of Arts in Marriage and Family Counseling from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. I enjoy working with children, individuals and premarital couples on various issues including but not limited to: depression, anxiety, grief and loss, anger management, codependency, and communication issues. I am particularly interested in working with children, as I have a range of experience working with children in various settings.
As a Christian counselor, my practice is greatly influenced by my biblical worldview. I believe that a person’s relationship with God is the key factor in a person’s life, and is a source of strength for the hurting. My approach is an amalgam of theories and techniques. I incorporate aspects of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Play Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy and Gestalt Therapy. I also believe that my approach should be tailored to fit the need of my client(s) and their situation(s).
